Promotional Posters!

Last semester, I needed some promotional work done for Painkiller Studios. I had the opportunity to work with the incredible Jeremyah Rodriguez: freelance fashion photographer, and head photographer of Nashville Alternative Fashion.
(His portfolio can be found here: http://cargocollective.com/jeremyahrodriguez)

Shooting with Jeremyah was a TON of fun, and most of the day was spent near the walking bridge in downtown Nashville.

Hamacon Minicon Winter 2012

Hamacon is an anime convention in my hometown of Huntsville, Alabama. Myself, and most of my friends have staffed it before, and I'm always proud to be a part of it.
I wanted to take more photos, but I had just driven down from Nashville, was running an hour late, and was generally not feeling well that day, so I remained posted up at my booth for most of the convention.

However, Hamacon Minicon 2012 remains one of the most fun conventions I've ever had the pleasure of selling at. Hamacon is big enough to be really entertaining, but still small enough to keep the feeling of a community where you can be friends with anyone.

Anime Weekend Atlanta

HOKAY... so... I've procrastinated as much as I possibly can, and nitpicked over everything else.
Now that I've decided on a Blogger layout that I don't hate (and totally given up on Wordpress, until I learn HTML) there's nothing else standing in the way of me getting done as much stuff as I can before school starts again.

I've been debating on whether or not to post all the photos from Anime Weekend Atlanta, but I figured I'd go ahead and do it and get it out of the way.

I've started two side projects in Huntsville and Nashville... but more on those later.

I'm also trying to get out of the habit of micromanaging all three of these projects, and instead, delegate tasks to employees willing to work for art and merchandise. :)

Lastly, THANK GOD I GOT A SMARTPHONE FOR CHRISTMAS. Maybe now it will be easier for me to send quick updates to Facebook and Twitter and Tumblr without having to find a computer and log in each time I want to update something. :D

I'll address my Nashville/Huntsville surprise in another post. For now, Anime Weekend Atlanta pictures. :)
(Apologies ahead of time, because some of them are blurry.)

ReMasters of the Universe

This is another one of those "Finally!" posts. As you can see on the flyer, the show date was August 11th. It is now Sept. 24th. And they say things happen faster with technology...

Read more by clicking on.... 'read more'!

This event was a really big deal for me, because it was the first show that I've actually been approached and asked to be in. I was thrilled, because Brooke E. (who curated me,) is a phenomenal artist. (Check her out at : http://www.unfriendlythings.com/)

The theme of the show (and hence, the name) was to take a work from one of the masters, and recreate it in our own style.

My choices?

"Woman With a Teacup" by Hokusai

My version. I didn't have time to scan it properly, so this is the best picture I have. :(
I painted Hokusai's "Great Wave" on the teacup. See what I did there? :3

"The Last Supper" by da Vinci

My version. I'm a little bit disappointed with the colours. I wish I had kept it at red, white, and black, with maybe a couple of other spot colours. I love the layout, but, again... I'm not used to using colour, so...
(I didn't have time to scan this one either. Bummer.)

The Skrillex Weekend (Day Two! With Carousels!)

In the post below, you can read all about The Skrillex Weekend Day 1.
Finally, I'm getting around to posting Day 2.
I hung out with Sami, who I've been super good friends with since sixth grade. We had a mini-photo shoot at Bridgestreet.

Most of the photos are after the jump.

My nails were so long!!! All 10 of them! I was SO happy, because it's rare that they all grow out that long.
Oh, and that face? Ahem.... I'm making fun of my sister, kinda. Somehow, this deranged face kinda pulls the whole I-have-bright-pink-hair-and-shaved-half-my-head look together.
